Gouda syrup waffle pots: a piece of Gouda in ceramic

Gouda syrup waffle pots: a piece of Gouda in ceramic

When you think of Gouda, you almost automatically think of stroopwafels. The Gouda stroopwafel is known and loved worldwide. From markets in the Netherlands to shops far beyond: this simple, traditional cookie has put Gouda on the map. But where do you store such a classic? That is exactly why we make our Gouda stroopwafel jars in our pottery factory on Middelblok, just outside Gouda.

A stroopwafel jar is not only practical, but also a recognizable piece of Dutch tradition in your home.

Stroopwafels and Gouda belong together

The stroopwafel originated in Gouda. What once started as a simple treat made from leftover dough and syrup has grown into a product that is now sold worldwide. Yet the city of Gouda remains inextricably linked to the stroopwafel.

With a ceramic stroopwafel jar decorated with Gouda motifs, you are not only bringing home a storage jar, but also a piece of history. Think of Gouda's town hall, canals, or traditional windmills that characterize the landscape around the city.

Our stroopwafel jars from our own factory

In our own pottery factory, we make various models of jars for stroopwafels. Each jar is cast, glazed, and finished by us. This allows us to maintain control over quality and appearance.

We work with ten standard Delft Blue designs, including:

  • Children's games
  • Old crafts
  • Windmills from the region
  • Flower decoration
  • Canals
  • The four seasons
  • Gouda City Hall
  • Rotterdam design

These standard designs are applied by printing after casting and glazing. This ensures a sleek and recognizable result that is well suited for everyday use.

Luxurious look with hand painting

For smaller quantities, it is also possible to have a stroopwafel jar painted entirely by hand using a personalized design. This gives it a more luxurious look and makes each jar unique. Hand-painted pottery requires more time and attention, but the result is visible in the details and the depth of the blue. See how our product process works here.

In addition to our standard collection, we also make personalized pottery. Companies such as Boskalis, the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Damen Shipyards, and the Dutch Ministry of Defense have already opted for their own design or logo on a stroopwafel jar. This makes the jar not only a storage container, but also a promotional gift or lasting memento.

A stroopwafel jar with your own design

Would you like to have your own decoration made? That's possible. We can work with:

  • Your own drawing
  • A company logo
  • A special anniversary design
  • An image related to a city or region

Because we produce everything in-house, we can help you decide on the shape, size, and finish. Please contact us with your personal wishes.

Practical and decorative

A stroopwafel jar is, of course, intended to keep stroopwafels fresh, but it also looks great on the countertop or in a store display. The combination of Delft blue and the warm character of the stroopwafel makes it a typically Dutch product.

Especially in combination with real Gouda stroopwafels, it creates a recognizable and authentic whole.
