A bowl naturally attracts attention. Not only because of the shape, but also because of the place he gets in the house. On the table, on a cupboard or as a fixed element in the interior. Delft blue bowls bring form and decoration together in an object that remains visible.

Traditionally made in Gouderak
Each bowl is produced in the Dutchceramics workshop in Gouderak, near Gouda. Here, the family business has been working on ceramics that are built with care since 1950. Because the entire process takes place in-house, there is control over every step.
The making process consists of:
- Mixing and preparing the casting clay
- Pouring the clay into plaster molds
- The first (biscuit) firing in which the product is baked
- Applying decoration, manually or via screen printing
- The glazing of the product and then the second firing
This method ensures bowls with consistent quality and a neat appearance.
Shape and decoration in balance
A bowl is not only about function, but especially about how form and decoration come together. The proportions, the edge, the depth and the pattern determine how a bowl comes across in space.
Within Delft blue, the contrast between white and blue creates a recognizable appearance. The decorations vary from classic to more quietly elaborated, giving each bowl its own character.
A permanent place in the house
A bowl is often not stored, but is given a visible place. On a table, a dresser or an open cupboard. As a result, appearance plays a greater role than with many other ceramic pieces.
You can see this in how a scale is applied:
- As a central object on the table
- As part of a still life on a cupboard
- As a separate element that immediately stands out
- As an addition to an existing establishment
The bowl thus becomes part of the space, instead of just a utensil. Also take a look inside our Delft Blue art!
Differences in size and appearance
Within the Delft Blue bowls collection, there are clear differences in size and shape. This determines how present a bowl is in a room.
You can choose from:
- Larger scales that immediately attract attention
- Medium-sized models with a subtle presence
- Deeper shapes with more volume
- Flat shells with a calm profile
By consciously looking at this, you choose a bowl that suits the place where it will be placed.
An object with lasting value
A Delft blue bowl is not a temporary item. It is an object that remains and becomes part of the interior. The timeless character preserves the appearance.
In addition, personalization is possible. Think of:
- Names or initials
- A date or occasion
- A specific design or logo
This gives the shell an extra layer and makes it a personal object.
Why choose Dutchceramics
Dutchceramics has been producing ceramics in the Netherlands since 1950. In the workshop in Gouderak, each product is built step by step. This way of working ensures that the quality remains constant and there is room for customization.
The combination of experience, in-house production and attention to detail ensures that each piece has its own look.
Choose a scale that remains visible
You choose a bowl not only by shape, but also by the place it gets. With Delft blue bowls you bring an object into your home that stays and becomes part of your interior.
