Antique delftplaque replica broke during kiln firing in our delft pottery

A potters nightmare, just when you have to fire a very large handpainted piece or a special project for a special date a piece breaks. It didnot slip out of our hands, the biggest risk is cracking during the glazefiring in the kiln. During heating up and cooling down the temperature of the piece should not raise or fall to fast to avoid tension that might lead to breakage.

The original work is a portrait in oil on canvas of a little girl, called `the little princess`made by the Dutch painter Paulus Moreelse in approximatly 1623. Moreelse ist mostly known as a portrait painter in the early 17th century in the new Dutch republic. Paul Moreelse, who also was an architect, had many portrait customers amongst the rich and famous  in his time.
