Tile tableau The Night Watch 30 x 45 cm

The world famous Nightwatch is a huge-sized  (363 cm × 437 cm  or  12 by 14 ft) oil painted by Rembrandtvan Rijn in 1642 and is at display at the Amsterdan Rijksmusuem. The work was commissioned by  the Amsterdan civic militia guards ( de stads schutters)  and is among other things renown for its dramatic use of light and shadow.  Here you can acquire Rembrands night watch on an original delftblue tilepanel consisting of 6 delfttiles of 6 inches each. The combined 6 tiles are glued to a woodeframe ( 18 by 12 inches) and ready tob e framed to your own liking.

Did you know that around in the year 1902 the Plateelbakkerij Zuid Holland in Gouda  made this Nightwatch replica on polychrome tiles in its real size.  This artwork has been handpainted by  PZH`s artist  Daniel Harkink ,At the end of last century, Dutchceramics, together with other investors and the city of Gouda, bought this huge tilepanel with the purpose to keep it in Gouda, where it is today at its local art Museum, read more info on this specific piece of de Nachtwacht in our 17/12/2020 news item: Montagne Aardewerkfabriek - Delftblue (dutchceramics.com)
