Good news for all cat lovers as we will here briefly explain how  delftblue ceramic cats are made in our delftpottery.

There are 6 different shapes of these ceramic small cats and also another 7 larger ceramic cats. The shaping of the clay into these ceramic kittens takes place by casting liquid clayslip into plaster molds. After a while the plaster drains out the water of the clay and the so called green clay can be released from the mold. In this way the shape is formed and after drying and finishing ready for the first fire. We call this the bisque fire as it turns the clay into ceramic bisque.
